2 weeks prior to her drop, OSTON, an up and coming independent artist, began building hype for her upcoming single, “Lie About You”. She posted a short, extremely catchy clip of her and her friend singing the new song on Tik Tok. The video went viral.
The Drop
The top comment on the video was “Somebody please remind me when this is released!”. Luckily, OSTON used a Laylo link in her bio, a landing page to her upcoming song where fans could RSVP via text, email, or Facebook to get the song link as soon as it was out.
The Results
On Drop day, all 3,500 fans were sent the song link. OSTON was placed in New Music Friday and several other flagship Spotify playlists. The song recieved over 18,000 streams on the first day, and is now her most popular song with over 2.4m streams.
In addition, 2900 fans opted in to get future updates from OSTON, so whenever she releases another song, merch, show, etc. she is able to send a direct message to all those superfans. Most recently, she sent a message to all fans who RSVPd a message thanking them for the success of the song with a 10% coupon to her merch store.
